« The Rise of Transnational Legal Indicators : Empirical Accounts of Law in a Global Society »

Description

David Restrepo Amariles has brilliantly defended his doctoral work « The Rise of Transnational Legal Indicators : Empirical Accounts of Law in a Global Society » on 19 June 2014 at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. His supervisors Benoît Frydman and William Twining (ULC London), as well as the other members of the jury, including Horatia Muir-Watt, Xavier Dieux, Isabelle Rorive and Arnaud Nuys, unanimously acknowledged the quality and rigour of the candidate’s work. His thesis persuasively showed the rise of transnational legal indicators and examined their implications from the perspective of business law and legal theory. Although the ULB does not delivered honours for his doctoral degrees, his work was defined as a highly original and world leading research widening the scope of legal reasoning. The public and jury congratulated the new doctor.
