His presentation will introduce and discuss the possibility of a ‘problem-based’ approach to the study of the effectiveness of international courts. More specifically, it proposes an approach to analysing the extent to which the European Court of Human Rights and the Court of Justice of the European Union can make a contribution to improving the precarious human rights situation of migrants and asylum seekers in Europe.
