Biography

Ana Maria Corrêa is currently a post-doctoral fellow, member of the management board and lecturer at the Centre for IP & IT law – KU Leuven. As a 2015 recipient of the CAPES foundation grant, her doctoral thesis “Discrimination in Online Platforms: A Comparative Law Approach to Design, Intermediation and Data Challenges” focused on the legal governance and liability of online platforms on the topic of discrimination against protected classes. Ana was awarded the Van Buuren Jaumotte Demoulin prize (2019). She holds a Law Master Degree in Legal Philosophy from the Université Aix-Marseille III (France) and studied European Human Rights at the European University Institute (Italy). 

 

Ana lectured at the ULB in the Comparative Law Course (2017 and 2020-2021) & at Goethe Universitat Frankfurt in the Global Law Theories course (2016). She coordinated the Equality Law Clinic at the ULB (2016-2017). She also worked as a consultant on Internet governance developments for DiploFoundation. Ana is a member of the Berkeley Center on Comparative Equality & Anti-Discrimination Law, Council for European Studies, the Internet Society Association, KU Leuven Digital Society Institute (DigiSoc),  and the Perelman Centre.
