Post-doctoral researcher in law.
Two year contract (01/09/2023 – 31/08/2025) full time
Workplace: HEC Paris
Remuneration: approximately 50,000 euros gross per year.
Holder of a PhD in law
Experience in academic research and publications on the crisis of the rule of law in Europe are essential.
Working languages English and French.

This contract is part of the broader project “Respond to Emerging Dissensus: Supranational Instruments and Norms of European Democracy” (“Red Spinel”). This project, coordinated by University of Brussels (ULB), aims to shed light on how European liberal democracy is being contested and what this means for its prospects in the 21st century. The post-doctoral researcher will mainly have research tasks concerning the Union’s response to the crisis of the rule of law (WP 6) with a focus on the analysis of European instruments of economic governance. In addition, the researcher will act as a “transmission belt” between the members of the consortium and will be responsible for the management and realisation of the deliverables foreseen by the European project, mainly publications on this theme and the organisation of seminars/conferences.

In addition to academic and research skills, a good knowledge of the research world, an ability to work in a team and to meet deadlines, as well as a proven expertise in project management are essential. Autonomy and good organisational skills are also important.

Finally, a good command of French and English is required.
